The planned changes to the shadow cabinet are being described as a step in the right direction by political analyst and attorney-at-law, Linton Gordon.
Opposition leader, Dr. Peter Phillips, announced at the People’s National Party (PNP) National Executive Council (NEC) meeting yesterday (April 14), that changes are coming to the shadow cabinet.
The NEC is the highest decision-making body, outside of the party’s annual conference.
Mr. Gordon says, he believes changes should be made to the spokespersons on National Security, and Foreign Affairs.
Additionally, he says, while it was reported that the NEC endorsed the leadership of the PNP president, Dr. Peter Phillips, it must not be taken as wholesome support, as there might be rumblings.
Mr. Gordon notes, that the discontent, may have been suppressed in the interest of unity.
On the matter of the reappointment of Damian Crawford to the Senate, Mr. Gordon notes, that it was expected.
