Police Inspector Facing Drug Charges Gets 12 Months Imprisonment

A policeman who was facing drug charges was fined more than half a million dollars, plus 12 months imprisonment.

Inspector Dale Isaacs who was attached to the Mobile Reserve, appeared in the St Andrew Parish Court yesterday.

He was fined $515,000 for possession of, and dealing in ganja, plus 12 months imprisonment.

The sentence was handed down by Parish Judge Maxine Ellis.

Reports are that in 2011, Isaacs was held by members of the JCF Anti-Corruption Branch along the Nelson Mandela Highway in St Andrew with more than 100 pounds of ganja in his private motor car.

He was arrested and charged with Breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Isaacs was represented by Attorney-At-Law Tom Tavares-Finson.
