Police High Command to increase deployment of officers to Westmoreland

The Police High Command is reportedly planning to increase its deployment of officers to Westmoreland, following the murder of four men in bath in the parish, yesterday.

44 year old, Carl Banhan, 23 year old, Timothy Bernard, otherwise called Tim, 19 year old, Demario Mcintosh, and 68 year old, Glendon Nannan, of Bath District were killed, when gunmen sprayed a crowd with bullets.

Irie Fm News understands that the police are planning to increase their presence in the area, as investigations continue.

In the meantime, members of the Police Community Safety and Security Branch, and church, met with the families of the four men yesterday, to offer support.

Reports are that about 9 pm on Saturday, the four men were among a group at a bar in the community, when gunmen on motorcycles drove up to the bar.

Police say they opened fire at the crowd.

The gunmen escaped, and the four men were taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Police are yet to establish a motive, for the killings.
