Police Commissioner says protection of human rights should be at forefront of minds of security personnel

by March 14th, 2019

The protection of human rights should be at the forefront of the minds of personnel in the protective forces.

That’s according to Police Commissioner Major General Antony Anderson.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony for pocket guides on ‘Human Rights in Law Enforcement’ yesterday, Commissioner Anderson urged members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to be guided by the rule of law and human rights.

The commissioner noted that while there are difficulties faced on the job, police officers must rise above these circumstances.
