No leads despite flood of calls about Dwight Henry

by January 9th, 2017

The St. Mary police are reporting a flood of calls, since a hotline was set-up, to receive information to help with the recapture of a murder accused.

The police say they have intensified efforts to recapture Dwight Henry, adding that no strong lead has been developed, from the many calls.

Henry escaped the custody of the police last week, while he was at hospital seeking medical assistance.

He was charged last year, along with Andre Thomas of Port Maria, for the April 30 murders of missionaries 48-year-old, Randy Hentzel, and fifty-three year old Harold Nichols.

Henry was being held at the Oracabessa lock-up, at the time of his escape.

Persons with information on his whereabouts are encouraged to call the hotline at 994-2452, police 119 emergency number, or the nearest police station.

Meantime, come January 23, the St. Mary police division will have a new commanding officer.

Superintendent Fabian Farquharson, will take-up duties.

He is being transferred to the St. Mary Division from the St. Andrew South police division.

He will replace Deputy Superintendent Dwight Powell, who is being transferred, coming on the heels of the escape of Dwight Henry, last week.

A multi-modal search is now on to recapture Henry.
