West Indies A team power past India A to win 3 match series
The West Indies A team have won the three match unofficial four day test series against their Indian counterparts.
The Windies achieved a 2-1 series victory after running out comfortable 10-wicket winners in the third and final match of the series between both teams at the Beausejour Stadium in St. Lucia.
The Indians batting in their second innings and resuming on their overnight 181 for 7 eventually closed their innings at 202 for 9 to set the Windies A team a target of just 97 runs.
WP Saha who began the day on 48 was dismissed for 52.
Kevin McLean led the Windies bowling with 5 for 57.
The Windies in reply raced to victory at 97 without loss with Kieran Powell smashing 56 not out and Kraigg Brathwaite supporting with an unbeaten 39.
The victory saw the hosts winning the 3 match series 2-1 after rebounding a loss in the opening test to reel of two straight victories.
Opener Kieran Powell was named Man of The Match for his 139 in the 1st innings and 56 not out in the 2nd innings, while fast bowler Delorn Johnson was named Player of The Series.
Both teams will meet in two twenty20 internationals and a three-match one day international series.
