TRENCH TOWN, INNSWOOD AND WOLMERS IN INTER-ZONE ROUND GIRLS FOOTBALL
Trench Town, Innswood and Wolmers today cemented their spots in the inter-zone round of the ISSA Locker Room Sports high school girls football competition.
Trench Town claimed their spot following a 2-nil win over Jonathan Grant to finish second in group ‘C’ behind early zone winners Excelsior High.
Campion College whipped Edith Dalton James 3-1 in the other group 'C' match.
Innswoon booked their place from group 'd' beating Camperdown 2-1 to finish second to St. Jago who completed the group with a perfect record edging Cumberland 1-nil.
Wolmers despite a 7-nil loss to early qualifiers and group winner Charlie Smith secured a place in the second round as well.
Shantel Bailey netted five times for Charlie Smith to bring her personal tally for the season to 45 goals.
In other matches today, Ardenne clobbered Papine 7-nil with Samantha Henry and Khrytina Fisher both scoring 3 times each while Spanish town defeated Donald Quarrie 2-nil.
The inter-zone round is expected to kickoff on April 17.
