Pagon & Parchment hit half centuries on day on Regional Final
Jamaica recovered from a middle-order slump to reach 266 for 8 at the close of play on the opening day of the Regional Four Day cricket final against Barbados at Sabina Park.
This after Donavan Pagon and Brenton Parchment dominated the Bajan bowlers to post a century second wicket partnership of 112, following the early dismissal of Xavier Marshall for 19.
Pagon struck 9 fours and 2 sixes on his way to a topscore of 71 after Tamar Lambert elected to bat first, while Parchment got 58 which included 7 boundaries.
However Sulieman Benn and Carlos Braithwite produced a superb spell of bowling where they combine to remove 5 Jamaican batsmen for 41 runs as the four time defending champions slumped to 195 for 6.
However an unbeaten knock of 29 from Nikita Miller and 15 not out from Sheldon Cotterel so far putting on 27 for the 9th wicket saw Jamaica to 266 for 8 at the close of play.
Benn has so far captured 5 for 90 and Braithwaite 3 for 38.
Jamaica is on the hunt for a historic five straight titles and is seeking to stretch its 100 percent win record this season to 8.
