Jamaica slide in FIFA rankings

Jamaica continues to lose grounds in world football ratings despite being unbeaten on the field of play since the start of the year.

The Reggae Boys are now ranked 56 in world football according to today's release of the FIFA Coca Cola rankings which sees Jamaica dropping 2 places from last month's ratings.

The move saw Jamaica dropping to 5th in the CONCACAF region overtaken by El Salvador who climbed 9 places to 49.

Mexico up two places to 20, the United States down 2 places to 29 and Panama who dropped 2 places to 52 and are now 4th in the region are the other CONCACAF sides above Jamaica in the rankings.

The Reggae Boys who will defend their Caribbean title in Antigua and Barbuda December 1 to 16 this year however remain the number one ranked side in the Caribbean.

Haiti 72, Trinidad and Tobago 83 and Guyana 99 are the other Caribbean sides in the top 100.

Meanwhile, Spain continues to top the world ahead of Germany up one place to second, Uruguay also up a place to third with the Netherlands 4th and Portugal 5th completing the top five.

Five times world champions and 2014 world cup host Bazil have again dropped out of the top five slipping one spot to sixth.
