Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls are still undefeated at the 2012 AFNA Caribbean Netball Championships in Trinidad and Tobago.

This after they steamrolled Canada 79-19 on Tuesday to register their 4th win in as many games.

The Sunshine Girls ended the first quarter 23-3 and took a 45-5 lead at halftime before closing the third, 62-13.

Jhaneile Fowler led all scorers with 38 goals from 40 attempts, while Chantal Slater added 11 from 12. Anna-Kay Griffiths supported with 11 from 12, while Vanessa Walker made 9 of 10.

Despite the overwhelming offensive display, Player of The Game accolade was given to Jamaican defender Malysha Kelly.

The blowout win over Canada follows similar demolitions of St. Lucia, Grenada and Guyana.

The Jamaicans have now scored a whopping 378 goals in 4 games to date while only conceding only 72.

The competition takes a break today and resumes on Thursday with Jamaica facing Barbados.

The Sunshine Girls following tomorrow’s game against the Bajans will next face Bermuda on Friday and defending champions Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday.

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
