3rd test between West Indies & England end in draw due to rain
The third and final test between the West Indies and England was abandoned as a draw to give England a 2-0 series victory after the 5th and final day was called off without a ball being bowled at Edgbaston because of rain, like it was for the first and second days.
England was expecting to resume this morning on 221 for 5 trailing the West Indies by 205 in the first innings.
This after Ian Bell ended yesterday at 76 and Steven Finn on zero.
Tino Best who ended with 2 for 37 was named Man of the Match. Yesterday he waltzed into the record books when he became the highest scoring number eleven batsman in the history of test cricket with his knock of 95.
Best shared in a massive 143 run 10th wicket partnership with Denesh Ramdhin who recorded his second test century,an unbeaten 107 as the Windies piled up 426 all out.
Marlon Samuels was named the West Indies Player of The series and Andrew Strauss the England Player of The Series.
The teams will now turn their focus to the One Day International series which starts on Saturday with game one at Southampton.
Before that the West Indies will take on county side Middlesex in a two day tour match on Wednesday and Thursday at Lords.
