Shawn Storm To Make Bail Application June

After years behind bars, jailed dancehall deejay Shawn Storm will make an application for bail on June 7.

The entertainer has been in lockup since September 2011.

Shawn Storm was jointly charged with Vybz Kartel and 4 others with the murder of Clive Lizard Williams which occurred in August 2011. Williams’s body has not been found.

A trial date has been set for November 18 to December 5.

Vegas Baby-Mama A No Show In Family Court

Mr. Vegas’ child custody battle will be dragged into September.

The case was set for mention on Monday, but was again put off after his baby-mama was a no-show. The matter is set for mention on September 17.

Mr. Vegas speaks with Music News.

All this comes following Vegas' public split from his baby-mama who was reportedly caught on camera in the deejay’s home getting intimate with another man in the presence of their young daughter.

Promoter Nabbed For Drugs Forcing Party Postponement

Rum Bar Rum‘s Marketing and Sales Manager, Paul Hamilton is advising partygoers that Rum Bar Bubbles is postponed until further notice.

Music News understands that the postponement comes following the arrest of one of the promoters of the event who was nabbed recently for drug related matters. The main promoter in question  and his girldfriend were arrested at their home in Runaway Bay, St. Ann.

Rum Bar Bubbles was slated to take place on the weekend but was suspended after organizers were denied a permit by police.

Toots Postpones Tour To Get Checkup

Toots Hibbert of the legendary reggae band Toots and the Maytals has postponed his Acoustic Tour in the US.

With five shows remaining, Toots who was recently struck in the head with a vodka bottle while performing at a festival in Virginia recently has put-off the concert to seek additional medical treatment. The bottle throwing incident has left Toots with 5 stitches to the head after being slapped by a patron.

Kartel, and his two co accused are charged for the murder of St. Catherine businessman Barrington Bossie Burton.

Vegas Accused Of 90’s Rhythm Infringement...

Do you remember the 90s hit rhythm "Black Widow" produced by Shines?

Well, Shines is claiming infringement on Mr Vegas Album "Sweet Jamaica" causing the album to be pulled from ITunes, Amazon and google play. According to Mr Vegas he has been receiving disturbing emails from Shines.

The "Black widow" rhythm which was used on Vegas’ Sweet Jamaica album for the title track Champagne Rose’ was replayed by the copy right owner of the rhythm, 'Clevie' from the duo 'Steelie and Clevie'.

Daville In Domestic Dispute...

Singer Da’Ville has been released from lockup after allegedly being arrested following a domestic dispute with his wife in New York on Thursday (23.05.13).

Music News understands that Da’Ville reportedly struck his wife in the face and was subsequently arrested after the police were called. The singer has since removed his clothes and other belongings from the matrimonial home after being reportedly slapped with a restraining order which prevents him from having any form of contact with his wife of 5 years or going anywhere near the home.

The Directors of Liv up Records are advising members of the music fraternity and the general public of unscrupulous person/s using the name of the CEO -Leighton 'Liv up' Coke - to fleece unsuspecting persons of cash or kind.

Oneil Coke of Liv Up Records condemns this criminal activity and warns the public not to be scammed by this individual and to report any suspicious person or activity to the nearest Police Station.

In recent months, several prominent members of the music fraternity have been targeted.
