VYBZ KARTEL AND GAZA SLIM REMANDED

Vybz Kartel will spend Christmas, New Year's and his birthday behind bars.

The troubled dancehall deejay who was slapped with two murder charges, appeared in the Corporate Area R-M Court along with female deejay Gaza Slim this morning (19/12/11/). They were both denied bail and remanded until January 9 two days after Kartel’s birthday.

Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey also asked to see the alleged texts between Vybz Kartel and Gaza Slim which resulted in them both being charged for attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Gaza associate Pim-pim who is allegedly involved in the conspiracy is yet to surrender to police. On Thursday (15/12/11) Head of the Criminal Investigation Branch Ealon Powell, said Pim-Pim is being sought by police as they believe the Gaza associate is part of the conspiracy involving dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel and Gaza Slim.

Meanwhile, the murder trial which involves the killing of Clive 'Lizard Williams' was heard in the Home Circuit Court this afternoon. It was ruled that all documents, video tapes and voice recordings should be handed in by 2pm tomorrow. In addition all other documents that should be served on the defense must do so January 5, 2012.

Kartel is expected to return to court on January 13, 2012 in that matter.

The self-proclaimed “World Boss” is charged with murder, conspiracy to murder, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of ganja.  On February 13, 2012 will answer to the charge of ganja possession.
