Shockwave, the new broadcast unit for IRIE FM and its sister station ZIP 103 FM was officially launched.

The unveiling took place on Saturday in Negril during the ATI and Dream Weekend parties in the resort town.

Subsequent to the launch, Shockwave made its debut on the party scene at Beer Vibes where it assisted with powering the music.

Shockwave is the perfect broadcast unit for your outside broadcasts, parties, launches and dances. It carries 24,000 watts of sound, a 25 feet long stage, deejay kit, tent and 6 televisions are some of the features on the Shockwave.

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
