September 30 Makes One Year Kartel In Lockup

Sunday, September 30, will mark one year that Vybz Kartel has been behind bars.

However, though he’s incarcerated, the deejay is not silent. Kartel’s first book, The Voice of the Jamaican Ghetto was released in July, new music seems to surface almost every week and he disbanded the Portmore Empire.

Vybz Kartel who was arrested on September 30 last year, is awaiting trial on two separate murder charges and a charge of perverting the course of justice.

Kartel is expected to return to court on November 12 where the case of perverting the course of justice is set for mention.
