ONE BLOOD FAMILY DONATES TO JAPAN
The “One Blood” family has handed over proceeds from their weekly event to assist those affected in Japan.
The event dubbed Japanese Thursday was created by Junior Reid and his sons Andrew and Wadda following the devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit the country.
Yumi, a Japanese living in Jamaica has received the donation. She tells Music News that the money will be sent to assist those most affected. She also used the opportunity to thank Jamaicans for their concern and support.
Meanwhile, Junior Reid talks about how reggae is big in Japan and that he had to find a way to show the people of Japan that Jamaica cares.
The death toll from the quake and tsunami has risen to 8,450, with nearly 13,000 people missing. More than 350,000 people are still living in evacuation centers in northern and eastern Japan. According to officials, there are shortages of food, water, fuel and medicine in the shelters.
