NO RELEASE DATE FOR BUJU

Despite being granted bail, international dancehall deejay Buju Banton is still behind bars.

Now, in order to prevent deportation, the reggae entertainer will have to receive an immigration bond but US authorities may want to keep Buju in the US to face his new trial in December.

But what does this mean for Buju? Must the Gargamel remain caged until such time? Will he be freed under the terms and conditions of his bail?

Professor Davd Rowe gives us the latest development

Buju was given bail on October 14 at $250,000US under strict conditions. The judge also ordered that Buju Banton be placed under 24-hour surveillance with the costs being paid by the defence.

Buju Banton who has been incarcerated since December 10 of last year, is expected to go before the courts for a retrial in his high profile drug battle against the United States government in December. An exact date is yet to be announced.
