With the celebrations of ATI, Dream and the official launch of Neyo’s Compound Entertainment the Negril holiday weekend was full of excitement.

Not even the heavy rains or crazy traffic could put a damper on the vibe. Patrons partied up a storm and many enjoyed themselves.

The Negril strip was filled with police officers – who provided safety for patrons who paraded the streets round the clock. Meanwhile Jerk men and women lined the sidewalks of the resort town.

International entertainer Neyo who had an open party at the jungle was well received.  The RnB singer ripped the stage. So too did Spice and Beenie Man.

Some Party goers however, who attended Smirnoff Dream Weekend were disgruntled after the organizers had to close off the entrance barring people from entering despite them having a ticket. This was a sore point for some. However, Kamal Powell assistant brand manager of Smirnoff says because of the concern for patron’s safety, the decision was made.

Some of the celebs who partied during the Negril weekend were Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Seanizzle, Bounty Killa, Spice, Bling Dawg and Lexxus among others.

All in all, the Negril Weekend was another fun year of enjoyment.

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
