MORE JAIL TIME FOR VYBZ KARTEL
Controversial dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel remains in custody although his detention period ends today.
Music News understands that the leader of the Portmore Empire is to be held for another 30 days. However he may be released earlier.
Vybz Kartel turned himself over to police on July 2 some three days after being named along with five other men as persons of major interest by the St. Catherine South Police.
Kartel is expected to perform on dancehall night at Reggae Sumfest on Thursday, July 22 at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.
Robert Russell one of the organizers of the highly anticipated reggae festival, told Music News in an interview yesterday that Vybz Karel is expected to be out of jail in time to perform at the 18th staging of Reggae Sumfest.
