With the silly season fast approaching, many entertainers are already dictating the pace for the festive season.

Already it appears to be a lyrical war that’s in the air. Diss tune after Diss tune, name calling and passa-passa may be the theme for Christmas  and just in time for the controversial Sting.

Merciless is the latest entertainer to drop on the war wagon. But is this a comeback for the Warhead?

Well, in the new single dubbed “Halla And A Ball” produced by Outaroad Records on the Gaga Riddim nobody was speared. Merciless dished lyrical blows at Sizzla, Capleton, Bounty Killa, Beenie Man, Kip Rich and Aidonia among others.

Meanwhile, Bounty Killa and Beenie Man are at it again. Their saga started after Killa tweeted about Beenie and D’Angel’s divorce. Since then, the two have been exchanging lyrical missiles.

Tony Matterhorn, Twin of Twins, Kip Rich and Elephant Man also have songs bashing their fellow entertainers.

So will we have a big showdown at the ending of the year? And if so, whose career will be buried?

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
