Representatives for Luciano are denying reports that the singer was pelted with empty bottles at a concert in Nigeria on Christmas Eve.

Reports in the social media are that the veteran reggae singer was on Saturday night pelted with empty water bottles by patrons that attended the closing of the 2011 Rivers State Carnival popularly known as CARNIRIV at the Liberation Stadium.

One of Luciano’s reps, claims some children were throwing cups on stage and the singer broke his performance, talked to the children and then continued his set.

Luciano was reportedly shocked at the hostile attitude.

The veteran reggae singer immediately sang his popular track, One way Ticket to Africa, to appease the crowd. But that didn’t stop some patrons from hurling objects at him.

Luciano later left the stage after singing, Sweep Over My Soul, before the Nigeria twin artistes, P-Square, were welcomed with applause.

Luciano is expected to arrive on the island later this evening.
