Big Ship recording artiste Laden is to return to the Santa Cruz RM court on Thursday July 14 to answer to charges of disorderly conduct and using indecent language.

The case was rescheduled yesterday (09/06/09).

All this is stemming from an incident in junction in the parish on May 27.  Allegations are that one of Laden's friends was caught talking to a female student when a police officer intervened and told her to go home, as she should not be roaming the streets in her school uniform.

It is alleged that Laden then challenged the cop by telling the student whom he claims is his sister not to leave. Laden and the police officer subsequently engaged in an intense argument that resulted into Laden allegedly using expletives.

The singjay was taken into custody where he spent the night. He was given $20,000 bail the next day.

Laden is known for hits such as Time To Shine and Really Like You.

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
