Kartel heads to court next Tuesday

Vybz Kartel is to appear before the Spanish Town RM next week Tuesday to answer profanity charges.

Kartel’s publicist, Claude Mills tells Music News that the deejay got a separate date from Mavado and is to appear in court on the 27th of January.

Mavado was tried yesterday (20/01/09) and told to pay ten thousand dollars or ten days in jail for breaches of the town and country act.

All this is stemming from Kartel and Mavado’s use of profanity at the controversial Sting held on Boxing Day, last year.

Both deejays blurted out expletives during their lyrical clash at Sting.

Warrants were subsequently issued for their arrests after police stated that the men were not arrested on spot in light of safety concerns.
