Buju Banton has been denied access to files requested from the state of Florida for his drug possession trial.

In documents obtained by Music News, the Gargamel and his lawyers were refused access to the civil tax liability documents of the confidential source or the informant.

Prominent attorney at law David Rowe says the judge sided with the prosecution sighting that the trial is not about whether the informant has paid his taxes but whether or not Buju Banton was selling cocaine. (CLIP)

Buju Banton has been in U.S custody since December 10 last year.

Authorities said they videotaped Buju Banton trying to purchase cocaine in a Sarasota warehouse in December.

The incarcerated dancehall deejay is expected to stand trial date on drug possession charges on June 21.
