The government of Grenada has refused to grant dancehall deejay Vybz Kartel a work permit due to his raunchy lyrics.

Several attempts made by Music News to get a comment from the controversial deejay were futile.

However, according to reports by the Associated Press, a government official from Grenada had issued a statement, which stated that a popular Jamaican entertainer has been barred from the country due to his raunchy lyrics that seem to promote violence.

Music News also understands that the promoter of the event titled "Rap-It-Up" a concert to promote safe sex and the launching of Vybz Kartel's Daggerin condom now seeks legal advice as he claims he spent a huge sum of money on the planning of the event.

Vybz Kartel was slated to perform at a concert in Grenada this Saturday May 2.

Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for.
