GOSPEL ARTISTE INVOLVED IN SHOOTING FOUND DEAD

A gospel artiste who reportedly shot and injured a man at Mammee River, Gordon Town, St. Andrew last night was found dead on the Gordon Town main road this morning.

 

Dead is Kasim Grant, who uses the stage name "Moses", of Havendale, Kingston 19.

 

According to reports from CCN, about 8:30 last night, Grant went to a house at Mamee River where an argument developed between him and a male family member over business deals. It is reported that during the argument, Grant drew a gun and fired several shots at him.  However, he was not hurt.  A family friend intervened and during a struggle, the friend was shot. Grant then fled, leaving his motor car. The injured man was taken to hospital where he was treated and released.

 

About 6:30 this morning the police were alerted about a body in a gully off the Gordon Town main road. They went to the area Grant's body was seen. The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue.

 

Detectives from the Constant Spring CIB who are investigating, are awaiting the result of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

 

Gospel artist Moses was known for songs such as Praise Him, Thunder Roll and Help.
