Songwriter and record producer Winston Riley will be buried this Saturday, February 4.

The service for Winston, who is the father of radio DJ Kurt Riley, will be held at Kingston's Holy Trinity Cathedral on North Street, beginning at 1:00 pm.

Kurt Riley talks with Music News about the funeral arrangements.

 

 

Winston Riley who died at hospital on January 19, was in a coma after he was shot in the head and arm in November last year (01.11.11).

Winston was plagued with a series of violent attacks. In August last year he was shot and later stabbed 5 times in September.

Winston Riley produced General Echo's hugely influential The Slackest album in 1979, and he went on to launch the careers of Sister Nancy, Buju Banton, Cutty Ranks, Lone Ranger and Frankie Paul.
