THE DRIVER BUJU BANTON TRANSFERRED

Buju Banton was transferred Early Tuesday morning (05/01/2010) by US Marshalls to a jail facility in Tampa.

He is scheduled to appear in US District Court for the Middle District Of Florida on Thursday, December 7.

Meanwhile, Buju Banton’s lawyer David Oscar Markus says "Buju is innocent - plain and simple". Markus adds that "Buju was set up from the jump by some evil people trying to take advantage of his trusting and honest character and that they are all looking forward to getting Buju Banton out of prison so that he can move forward with his stellar music career.”

A U.S. drug enforcement administration affidavit says Buju Banton and two others tried to buy a large amount of cocaine from an undercover officer in Sarasota.

Buju Banton has been in federal custody since December 10, 2009.
