D BROWN GETS OD IN THE RANK OF COMMANDER

TWELVE years after his death, Dennis Emanuel Brown was awarded with the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander (CD) for his contribution to the Jamaican music industry.

The posthumous award was accepted by his widow Yvonne at the national awards at King's House yesterday.

Dennis Brown, who died in 1999 at age 42 of respiratory ailments, rose to prominence during the 70s.

Other honourees from the entertainment industry were Millie Small, Dobby Dobson and Robbie Lyn among others.
