CALABASH INTERNATIONAL LITERRARY FESTIVAL FOR MAY 28-30

Jamaica’s south coast will be abuzz with excitement from May 28-30 as scores of lovers of creative style soak up the inspirational offerings of some of the world’s most celebrated literary talents slated for the Jamaica Tourist Board-sponsored Calabash International Literary Festival.
The calendar event is set to unfold on the usually tranquil seaside village of Treasure Beach, St. Elizabeth.
With this year being the 10th anniversary the organizers of the three-day literary festival, which is free to the public, are promising an exciting mix of world renowned and upcoming literary and performing talents.
The participants include: Nigerian Nobel Prize Winner Wole Soyinka, US Poet Laureate Billy Collins, Geoff Dyer (UK), Colson Whitehead (USA), Nami Mun (South Korea), Sharon Olds (USA), Sudeep Sen (India), Feryal Ali Guaher (Pakistan), Helen Oyeyemi (Nigeria) and Russell Banks (USA). On the local side, Jamaica’s international reggae artistes, Freddie McGregor and Etana will head the list of entertainers.
