A Buju Banton overseas concert which was recently cancelled because of protest about the artist ant-gays lyrics has been rescheduled.

The reggae singer will perform on October 2, at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus Ohio.

A campaign against an October 3 Banton show at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion promoted many calls and e-mails last week, leading to the concerts cancellation.

Banton’s 1988 song “Boom Bye Bye” featured lyrics that some say speak of shooting and burning gays.

However his management team says the artist is wrongly portrayed in the media.

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
