BUJU BANTON TRANSFERRED TO MIAMI PRISON

Buju Banton is today (29/11/11) being relocated to another prison.

The reggae entertainer, who went from Florida to Oklahoma to Texas, then back to Oklahoma is en route to the Federal Correctional Institution in Miami, according to his lawyer David Oscar Markus.

In an exclusive interview, David Markus tells Music News that Buju was at one of the worst places you can imagine. He explains that the facility was filled with Mexicans who were awaiting deportation. 

In relating news, a benefit concert is to be held for the incarcerated reggae entertainer on December 3 in Tampa, Florida. The lineup includes Delly Ranx, Gramps Morgan, Nadine Sutherland, Glen Washington and Norris Man among others. Proceeds from the concert will go towards Buju's efforts to appeal his conviction and ten year prison sentence. Buju Banton was sentenced for drug related charges stemming from a December 2009 incident in which he allegedly conspired to organize a drug deal in a police controlled warehouse.
