Hours have passed and the jury is still deliberating the fate of international reggae entertainer Buju Banton.

Our Music News analyst and source on location says the jury may reach a verdict today based on the evidence that was presented.

In Wednesday’s court hearing, Buju Banton said he talked a lot about drugs with a U.S. government informant, but that doesn't make him a drug dealer. The entertainer also stated that he made up ambitions to deal cocaine to impress the informant, who he believed would introduce him to music industry contacts.

Buju Banton is on trial in Florida on charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine and aiding and abetting two others in possessing a firearm during the course of distribution.

The entertainer has been in custody since December 10 of last year.
