According to reports, dancehall singjay Blak Ryno of the Vybz Kartel led Portmore Empire had the assault charges against him dropped  when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last week.

Reports are that, when the case was mentioned, the Magistrate was informed by the investigating officer that the complainant would not be attending court due to threats on his life and was no longer interested in pursuing the matter.

Before dismissing the charges the somewhat reluctant Resident Magistrate said people should not be afraid or intimidated to come to court and give evidence as it is their civil right. After a brief moment of deliberation the displeased Magistrate informed Blak Ryno that he was free to go but not with the blessings of the court.

Black Ryno was arrested last October after an incident where he became irate after learning that his neighbor, who is also the strata manager, had allegedly damaged the water pipes in an apartment complex where the two reside due to the entertainer’s non-payment of water bills.

An argument ensued and the entertainer allegedly physically attacked the strata manager injuring him.

The Half Way Tree Police were summoned and Ryno was subsequently arrested and charged for occasioning bodily harm and unlawful wounding.
