Beenie Man who is still without a US work permit, may disappoint his American fans who are expecting to see him perform on Labour Day Weekend.

In a press release issued to the media, Beenie Man sets the record straight. The doctor says he does not want to mislead his fans and they should not expect a performance on September 4 at the Reggae R & B concert.

Beenie Man further explains that the show's organizers are honouring him for his contribution to reggae and dancehall so he will attend the event but is not eligible to perform.

At Sunday's concert, there will be performances from the likes of Mavado who recently received his work permit, “Babyface”, R&B singer Monica, Tarrus Riley and Machel Montano.

From the batch of dancehall entertainers who got their visas revoked by the US embassy last year, Beenie Man and Mavado are the only two allowed to fly freely to the United States.

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
