Despite intervention from police officials in Barbados, a concert featuring dancehall deejays Mavado and Vybz Kartel are still on.

Barbadian Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin said the force is concerned about the negativity associated with both entertainers.

According to the WEEKEND NATION the commissioner said the police have been following the developments in Jamaica in relation to the deejays and it seems clear that their performances seemed to be a motivation for violence.

Meanwhile, our Music News source in Barbados says despite the inquiry by the police the concert is still on as preparations and advertisements are in high gear.

Vybz Kartel and Mavado are slated to perform at a reggae show on March 27.

About IRIE FM

The station officially went on air on August 1, 1990. Reggae in the morning, Reggae in the evening, Reggae in the night was the cry. Critics said it was impossible to sustain a 24-hour Reggae music station. In fact, so strong was the impact, it proved that this format was something the Jamaican public yearned for. The 'little station that could' got all media houses in Jamaica to stand up and take note.
