Several roadways affected by heavy rains
As the island continues to be affected by heavy rains, the National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists to avoid some roadways.
Sections of the Bog Walk Gorge are affected by fallen rocks, so motorists are advised to exercise caution along the roadway.
They may also use the alternative routes through Barry or Sligoville.
Meanwhile, the Williamsfield to Glengoff roadway in St. Catherine has been rendered impassable by a landslide.
The NWA is says motorists should use any available alternative route.
Meanwhile, sections of the roadway leading to the Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston remain flooded, due to heavy rains.
NMIA Airports Limited says the heavy rains, coupled with construction work being undertaken by the NWA to rehabilitate and protect the Palisadoes shoreline, are causing delays.
Motorists are being advised to expect traffic delays travelling to the airport.
Persons who are leaving the island today (April 22) should allow themselves additional time to facilitate delays, in order to be on time for their flights.
