O.U.R begins audit of JPS procedures
The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) is to audit the service quality performance of the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS).
The O.U.R says it will examine the performance indicators and the data collection procedures and methods used by the light and power company to calculate service quality indices.
The service quality relates to the types frequency and duration of outages.
It also indicates the number of customers affected by outages.
The O.U.R adds that the information from the audit will be used as the basis to determine the future service quality performance of the JPS.
JPS has been requested to provide access to its records and relevant information and agents to facilitate a smooth flow of information.
U.S. based consulting firm Kema has been engaged to conduct the audit, which is scheduled to be completed within the next eight to twelve weeks.
