New Solicitor General and RGD head appointed
A new Solicitor General has been appointed.
The Public Service Commission has announced that Nicole Foster-Pusey, will fill the position.
Her appointment takes effect, August 7.
Mrs. Foster-Pusey, the first female to hold the position, takes over from Douglas Leys, who stepped down as Solicitor General, in March.
Dr. Kathy-Ann Brown has been acting since then.
Mrs. Foster-Pusey previously served in the Attorney General’s chambers, between 1993 and 2008.
During that time, she developed considerable expertise in the areas of litigation, commercial and constitutional law.
Meanwhile, the Public Service Commission today (July 17) also announced the appointment of Deidre English-Gosse, as Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Keeper of the Records in the Registrar General’s Department (RGD).
Her appointment also takes effect on August 7.
Mrs. English-Gosse, an attorney-at-law, has served in various capacities in a number of public sector agencies, including the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, the Companies Office of Jamaica and the Broadcasting Commission.
