About 600 activities registered for Labour Day
Plans are in high gear for tomorrow's (May 23) staging of Labour Day 2012.
Labour Day is celebrated each year on May 23.
Jamaicans are to carryout work on close to 600 projects island wide.
The activities will form part of a major thrust to clean up the country.
Principal Director of Culture in the Ministry of Youth and Culture, Sidney Bartley, says this year's theme is 'Step Forward and Make Jamaica Beautiful'.
He says several areas including historic landmarks and drains will be targeted.
Mr. Bartley adds that the Parish Councils and the Local Government Ministry are to lead the activities.
He says the town squares, schools, as well as the National Heroes Park (which has been marked as the main project) will be the focus of the day's activities.
