Education Minister, Senator Ruel Reid says, Jamaican students, up to age 18, will soon have their education, fully funded by the government.

He says, the government is working on a plan, to be finalized in the next three years, that will allow the students access to free education, from early childhood, up to tertiary level.

The minister says, the new policy will be based on a model used in Barbados.

The Education Minister says, he will be taking a proposal to Cabinet next week, to pave the way for the policy.

He was speaking yesterday, at the Annual Conference of the Council of Community Colleges of Jamaica, in Montego Bay, St. James.
