The Jamaica Scorpions suffers second straight defeat in regional four day Championship

The Jamaica Scorpions suffered their second straight defeat in the regional four day tournament after crashing to a 34 run loss to the Leewards Islands hurricanes on day three of their day/night fixture at Sabina Park last night.

Set 149 for victory in match in the where the ball dominated the bat the scorpions crashed to 114 all out despite a fighting 48 from Jermaine Blackwood and Brandon King who made 17.

West Indies pacer Alzari Joseph tormented the Scorpions bagging 5 for 43 while Jerimiah Lewis snapped up 4 for 23.

Earlier the hurricanes were dismissed for a second innings 133 with Jahmar Hamilton top-scoring with 45.

There were two wickets each for Jerome Taylor, Rovman Powell Nikita miller and Damion Jacobs.

Final scores the Leeward Islands Hurricane 71 and 133, the Jamaica scorpions 56 and 114.

Meanwhile Barbados Pride wrapped up a nine wicket victory over the Windward Islands Volcanoes at the Kensington Oval, in Barbados.

Roston Chase bagged 7 for 22 as the Windward Islands batting a second time were dismissed for 71.

Set 40 runs for the victory the Barbados achieved their win at 41 for 1.

Final scores the windward island hurricanes 293 and 71 Barbados pride 324 and 41 for 1.

Meanwhile the Guyana Jaguars requiring 59 runs for victory over the Trinidad and Tobago Red force will resume tomorrow’s  final day on 3 without loss.
