Investigations Underway into Escape of 5 Prisoners from Ocho Rios Lockup

A number of investigations are being conducted into the circumstances surrounding the escape of 5 prisoners from the Ocho Rios Police Station this morning.

The 5 escaped by cutting through a ventilation grill, in the roof of the cell.

On the run are 48 year old Gary Ferguson who is charged for unlawful possession and rape, and 28 year old David Anderson charged for rape.

The other escapees are 22 year old Nicholas Massup, charged for murder, 24 year old Reynardo Williams charged for illegal possession of firearm, and 61 year old Leroy Laud charged for illegal possession of firearm.

Head of the St Ann Police, Superintendent Gary Francis says, the prisoners used a hacksaw blade, to cut through the ventilation grill.

He says, the police will continue a robust manhunt for the 5 escapees

 

Meantime, the Police are reminding citizens that it’s a criminal offence to harbour a fugitive.
