As reggae lovers the world over ready themselves for Jamaica’s most eagerly anticipated music show- momentum in the resort town of Montego Bay is building.
Reggae Sumfest officially began its weeklong event with its world renowned beach party at Cornwall Beach on Saturday, July 17.
The event continues on Thursday with dancehall night on, July 22, as heavy-weight artistes Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Elephant Man and Bounty Killa are expected to dominate the lineup.
IRIE FM got the exclusive with dancehall artist Mavado. He says Reggae Sumfest is Jamaica’s biggest event and he can’t wait to hit the stage in Montego Bay.
Friday and Saturday’s international nights will see the calibre of Chris Brown, Usher, Shaggy and Beenie Man take the stage.
Thousands of tourists and Jamaicans alike are expected to make the trip up to the second city this week in time for Thursday’s opening event.
