Robert Nesta Morgan has been sworn in as the Government Senator.
The former Director of Communication in the Office of the Prime Minister will now also take up the role of Parliamentary Secretary.
Morgan replaces Ruel Reid in the Upper House, completing the 13 count for Government senators.
Reid resigned from the Senate in March, following allegations of corruption at the Education Ministry.
Morgan took the oath of office in the presence of Governor General Sir Patrick Allen, during a ceremony at Kings House, this afternoon (May 9, 2019).
It’s reported that he will be based at the office of the Prime Minister.
It’s not clear who will fill the OPM Director of Communication vacancy.
