Following the recent attacks in Paris by terrorist group ISIS, Canadian reggae entertainer Empire Isis has decided to drop the ‘Isis’ part of her stage name and rebrand for the New Year.
In a press release sent to Music News, Empire Isis says “My name is inspired by the Egyptian Goddess Isis and my North African roots but it’s time to drop the ‘Isis’ part of my name given recent developments in international geopolitics.. “
She will now be referred to as Empire I.
The entertainer has had a challenging year. In late April, the artiste sustained multiple injuries including a fractured skull and several broken bones from a near fatal car accident. She was admitted to the Kingston Public Hospital and subsequently airlifted to Canada for treatment.
Empire I is known for songs such as “Come With Me’, ‘Ignite’ and ‘Nana Power’ among others.
