The election petition hearing challenging the election of Dean Jones in the local government election last November in the Yallahs division in St Thomas is to continue today in the Supreme Court.
A petition was filed by the defeated People’s National Party candidate Constantine Bogle.
Several witnesses have so far given evidence at the hearing which began in July before Justice Bryan Sykes.
Bogle is contending that jones did not live in the parish for at least 12 months prior to the election as the law required.
It is also being contended that when jones was nominated to contest the election in November 2016, he was employed in the government service.
The St Thomas Parish Council has five JLP candidates and five PNP candidates.
