Earl “Wyaa” Lindo dies at 64

Earl “Wyaa” Lindo, legendary musician, and member of the Hippy Brothers, and Bob Marley’s tribute band has died.

Music News understands that the 64-year-old died at a hospital in the UK Monday (September 4, 2017).

Isha Barrett, daughter of Aston “Family Man” Barrett, and cousin to Earl “Wyaa” Lindo shares with Music News her fondest moment with the legendary musician.

Earl “Wyaa” Lindo worked with the Wailers for two albums, Catch a Fire and Burning. He later did solo work with Bob Marley from 1974 on his Natty Dread album until Bob’s passing in 1981.

Bunny Wailer, the only living Wailer, remembers Earl Wyaa Lindo as a great musician.

Legendary reggae musician Earl Wyaa Lindo collaborated with numerous reggae entertainers including Burning Spear.

In his later years, he performed with Bob Marley’s tribute band.

    Damn RIP Wya, last time I saw you was in concert in Wurzburg Germany while I was station there with the US Army. Nuff laughing you did to entertain us the Jamaicans who were US soldiers station in Europe, even providing us with VIP backstage passes. Jamaica has not only lost a great keyboard player but a great ambassador of the Jamaica people. RIP musician
