Dr David Lowe, the CEO of Caribbean Producers Jamaica has been appointed chairman Western Regional Health Authority.
He leads a team of other newly appointed board members to include Merrick fray; Glenn Lawrence; Osmond Clarke; Dennis Meadows; Sheona Muschett; Candice Craig; and Dr Jeffery Reid.
Dr Lowe’s tenure as board chairman took effect on July 11 and he will serve in this capacity until March 31, 2019.
Tony Hart, the former chairman, stepped down due to personal reasons but remains on the board.
Speaking on the appointments, Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton said the new chairman and board of management will bring combined expertise and experience to effectively manage the operations of the region.
This as the ministry embarks on the some major infrastructure projects that will benefit the western parts of the country.
The WRHA provides health-care through a network of four hospitals and 84 health centres in St James, Westmoreland and Hanover.
