President of the Caribbean Maritime University, Professor Fritz Pinnock, has denied that the university had any involvement in the hosting of a birthday party for the former Education Minister.
This, as he responded to questions from members of Parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee, P-A-A-C, today (May 15).
The People’s National Party, P-N-P had demanded some time ago that CMU provided details about birthday parties and celebratory activities allegedly held for the former minister.
The opposition had said it was informed that the CMU had paid for a yacht party held for the education minister’s 50th birthday.
Responding to the allegations in the PAAC today, the CMU president said the event being referenced was an industry function.
